Squishy Society started the way a lot of the best small businesses do — with a kid who wouldn't stop talking about something. My daughter is eight, and for the better part of a year, squishies were basically all she wanted to talk about. The trouble was, whenever we went looking for them online, we'd end up scrolling through hundreds of near-identical listings with no way to tell which ones were actually good — soft, well-made, safe — and which ones were junk with nice photos.
So I started buying a few, testing them properly, and only keeping the ones that were genuinely worth having in the house. Squishy Society grew out of that. Every item in the shop has been picked — and squished — by us first. If it's not something I'd be happy to see my own daughter unwrap, it doesn't make the cut.
We know most of our customers are parents (or grandparents, aunties, uncles) shopping for a kid who's just like mine — so we try to make that easy. Every squishy is hand-picked rather than mass-imported, we check quality and safety before anything gets listed, and if you ever have a question about sizing, texture, or whether something is right for a particular age, just ask — we've usually tested it ourselves and can give you a straight answer.
